Funding Cities With Renewable Resources

This year the Province of Ontario and the City of Toronto initiated processes calling for new ideas to deal with the challenges of climate change. On September 15th Green 13 Vice-Chair Paul Mero will share an idea on how using the most efficient heating and cooling systems - district based ground source geothermal - can also generate sustainable funding for local transit.

The presentation will examine the implications of using royalty based programs as an incentive for the Province, cities, companies and residents to switch to locally available ground sources geothermal for heating and cooling.

Following the presentation there will be a discussion about the opportunities and challenges of using geothermal energy as a large-scale sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

Please join us for this glimpse into a new way of make our cities sustainable.
