Post-Earth Day Clean up events in the community

The City of Toronto will be cleaning up its parks and neighbourhoods this weekend (Saturday, April 25th) as part of Mayor Miller's community clean-up! Community groups in Swansea and The Junction have specific events planned:

Swansea - community residents will be cleaning up the park behind Swansea Public School starting at 10 am

Upcoming community environmental meetings

Living on Earth as if we want to stay
Public discussion: April 17 - 7:00 pm, 215 Spadina Ave. at College Street, 4th floor
Hosted by the Centre for Social Innovation and Womens' Healthy Environments Network

For forty years, Mike Nickerson has been studying the problems and solutions of our times. His study, from outside of institutional molds, reveals how societies change. Nickerson will be the guest of CSI and WHEN where he will facilitate a discussion based on his book "Life, Money & Illusion; Living on Earth as if we want to stay."

Thank you!

Thank you to all who participated in Earth Hour Saturday night! In our own community, hundreds of people, young and not so young, families with children and pets, some singing, many carrying lanterns, all having fun while standing up for the planet, made the evening a memorable event.

Thank you to MPP Cheri DiNovo for hosting a community reception afterwards. And thank you to the folks from Inorganic Market for their donation.

Finally, a big thank you to the many volunteers who helped on Saturday and in the days and months leading to Earth Hour!

Earth Hour tonight!

Just a reminder to power down and stand up for the planet tonight. Join your neighbours in one of the many community events:
