COMMUNITY COUNCIL ON FEDERAL ISSUES
Topic: Federal Transportation Policy and Metrolinx
Wednesday, May 19, 2010
Location: Bishop Marrocco Catholic Secondary School, 1515 Bloor Street West (at Dundas Street West)
Please join me for my next regular “Community Council on Federal Issues (flyer with agenda at http://www.gerardkennedy.ca/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/Community-Council-Flyer-May-20101.pdf ).
It is an opportunity for me to learn your views on current federal issues and to let you know about the initiatives that I am undertaking on your behalf. Some of my current projects are listed on the attached flyer and you are invited to get involved in any that are of interest.
As you may know, Metrolinx/GO is proposing a large increase in the number of diesel commuter trains travelling through our neighbourhood. Our next meeting will discuss their proposal in relation to federal government transportation policy.
I also invite you to help shape Canada from Parkdale-HighPark by joining my non-partisan “Community Council on Federal Issues”. The council is made up of interested community members and leaders of local organizations. Members are invited to attend regular public town hall meetings, receive MP Reports (to view my April 2010 MP Report please go to: http://www.gerardkennedy.ca/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/April-2010-MP-Report.pdf ), as well as review information and provide advice on issues about which they care.
