Toronto's Greenest Neighbourhoods Launch

Date:
16 Jun 2018 - 2:00pm to 17 Jun 2018 - 3:45pm

Location: Jane / Dundas Library, 620 Jane Street

Green 13 is thrilled to announce that our community has been selected to participate in a new City of Toronto program - Toronto’s Greenest Neighbourhoods. This project supports the goals of the City's Climate Action Strategy, TransformTO and is helping to create a green, equitable, prosperous and resilient community in the Junction and Rockcliffe-Smythe area.

Right now, there are many rebate and incentive programs that are offering thousands of dollars to assist homeowners with conducting home energy improvements such as: upgrading windows and doors, installing high efficiency furnaces and air conditioners, and adding basement to attic insulation.

If you want to make your home more comfortable and energy efficient, there’s never been a better time than now.

If you’re a senior, or on a limited income (a family of four earning less than  $62,000 per year), there are additional programs covering the entire cost of upgrades to your home. If you have an old furnace or drafty windows, there is help available for you!

If your home needs work but you don’t have the money to invest in the upgrades right now, financial assistance is available through the City’s HELP (Home Energy Loan Program) offering low cost loans with medium to long term payback options and interest rates starting as low as 2%.

If you’re interested in increasing the comfort of your home and reducing the cost of keeping out the cold, but don't know where to start, join Green 13 for the launch event on Saturday, June 16, 2-4 PM, at Jane / Dundas Library, 620 Jane Street.

If you would like to volunteer on the Toronto’s Greenest Neighbourhoods project by spreading the word among your neighbours, please come to the event, or contact us at green13@green13toronto.org.
